Dr. Michael Prewett

Dr. Michael Prewett was born and raised in Muldrow, Oklahoma. Starting out as a toddler ‘helping out’ on his family’s farm, Dr. Prewett gained a love for animals at an early age. That love led him to pursue an Associate degree from Carl Albert State College and then his Bachelors in Animal Science and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Oklahoma State University in 2001. Dr. Prewett started his veterinary career as a mixed animal Veterinarian at Northside Animal Hospital in Stillwell and joined the team at Rogers Avenue Animal Clinic as an Associate Veterinarian in 2006. In 2007, Dr. Prewett became a managing partner of RAAC while pursing his dream of opening a state of the art Veterinary practice. Dr. Prewett, along with his wife, opened the doors of Massard Creek Animal Hospital on January 2nd, 2023.

Dr. Prewett is an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Arkansas Veterinary Medical Association and the Oklahoma Veterinary Medical Association. He is passionate about growing his knowledge in the Veterinary field through Continuing Education Seminars and has a wide circle of connections for collaboration. In his free time Dr. Prewett enjoys spending time with his wife, Dr. Melanie Prewett, and his three boys while enjoying the outdoors and OSU Football. Dr. Prewett has a bevy of animals including: Maddie, a GSP that is the ‘Old Lady’ of the family, Boone, a GSP, Mando, a Yellow Labrador Retriever that is the the ‘baby of the family’, as well as a herd of cattle and miscellaneous wild birds. Fun fact: Dr. Michael Prewett obtained his pilot’s license at a young age and for many years enjoyed the freedom of flying.


Dr. Melanie Prewett

Dr. Melanie Prewett was born and raised in Vernon, New Jersey. She was an avid dancer and was the child who brought home every stray. She had a love of animals from a young age and enjoyed joining her Mom for every veterinary visit they had. Dr. Prewett attended Wilkes University and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Biology. She was accepted into the veterinary program at Oklahoma State University where she graduated with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. Dr. Prewett is a founding member of the River Valley Veterinary Medical Association as well as a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Arkansas Veterinary Medical Association, and Oklahoma Veterinary Medical Association. She is also a board member for the Fort Smith Animal Emergency Clinic and a volunteer for Sequoyah Animal Advocates. Dr. Prewett is often seen in local schools sharing her love of veterinary medicine with students through interactive learning.

Dr. Prewett joined our team in 2003 and is our clinic’s go to Veterinarian for all things cytology. In her free time, Dr. Prewett enjoys yoga, dance, pickleball and watching her boys play sports. She and her husband, Dr. Michael Prewett, have spent many years planning and preparing for the opening of Massard Creek Animal Hospital and have been immersing themselves in offering the most top-notch medicine available. Dr. Prewett is the proud owner of: Scout, a German Shepherd Mix, Woody, an Australian Cattle Dog, and Amber and Mercy, their rambunctious kitties. Fun fact: Dr. Melanie Prewett was Miss New Jersey 1996-1997 and competed in the 1996 Miss America Pageant.


Dr. Abigail Hanna

Dr. Abigail Hanna was born and raised in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Finding a combined interest in medicine and animals, she decided to pursue a career in the veterinary field. After graduating from Sallisaw High School she attended Carl Albert State College as a Scholar Program Student while obtaining her Associate Degree in Science as well as working as a Veterinary Assistant during her school breaks. Upon completing one year of undergrad, Dr. Hanna went on to receive her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Oklahoma State University. Dr. Hanna is an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Arkansas Veterinary Medical Association, Oklahoma Veterinary Medical Association and the River Valley Veterinary Medical Association.

Dr. Hanna joined our team in 2021 and has brought with her a wealth of knowledge and drive to learn. Dr. Hanna loves to spend her free time playing slow pitch women’s and co-ed softball or on the lake with her family. She is joined in her home by a bevy of pets: Ava, an Australian Shepherd, Asher, a large Lab Mix, Ares, a black cat, Agatha and Athena, both Ball Pythons, and Artemis, a bearded dragon. Fun Fact: All of Dr. Hanna’s pets have favorite colors and all of their belongings are coordinated with their color (Ava’s favorite color is pink!).


Dr. Lori Hardin

Dr. Hardin is a 1994 graduate of Oklahoma State University School of veterinary medicine and a 1985 graduate of Southern Methodist University. Dr. Hardin has been practicing with us at Massard Creek Animal Hospital since 2003.

Madhi Porter, Practice Manager

Madhi joined the team at Massard Creek Animal Hospital in 2008 after relocating here from her home state of Georgia. She started her veterinary employment in 2005. She and her husband Porter have one son, Banks. She is also the pet parent to a rambunctious Boxer, Katy, and two cats, Mitzi and Kitty.


Natalie Sterling, Receptionist

Natalie started with our clinic in 2001 after relocating from her hometown of Morrillton. She and her husband Jake have two daughters that she enjoys spending time with by the pool or watching the Razorbacks. Natalie has two house kitties: Miller, a crazy orange tabby and Maverick, a Fatty Fat black and white tuxedo. Fun Fact: Natalie is our longest-term employee at 23 years (as of 2024)!


Megan Simmons, Veterinary Assistant

Originally relocating to Arkansas from California in 2011, Megan joined our clinic in Fort Smith in 2018. Megan has several certificates of education, including ones pertaining to the veterinary field, medical field and forensic science. Megan is joined in her home by her husband, Ben, her 2 dogs and 5 cats. In her free time, Megan enjoys kickboxing, playing her flute and her clarinet. Fun fact: Megan and Ben LOVE Star Trek and live by the motto of ‘Live long and prosper’.


Salarah Logan, Veterinary Assistant

Born and raised in Fort Smith, Salarah joined our team in 2023 after graduating with her Veterinary Assistant Certificate from Petra Allied Health. Salarah has a large family that she enjoys spending time with as well as one dog: Louis, a French Bulldog who is stubborn, playful, and opinionated. In her free time, Salarah likes to travel, read, shop and sleep. Fun Fact: Salarah is currently enrolled at San Juan College to obtain her degree in Veterinary Technology.


Briana Carrillo, Veterinary Assistant

Briana joined the team at Massard Creek Animal Hospital in 2015 after finding a passion for working with animals at her previous clinic. She enjoys expanding her growing knowledge by also working as an Emergency Medicine Assistant at the Fort Smith Animal Emergency Clinic. Brian is the proud Mom to two children, two dogs, and a bunny.


Adam Huerta

Adam grew up in the Central Valley area of California but after visiting a longtime friend in Oklahoma, he and his wife decided to take a leap and relocate to the area. Bringing 21 years of veterinary experience, Adam joined our team in 2024 and splits his days between our Fort Smith and Sallisaw offices. In his free time, Adam enjoys spending time with his wife and three dogs: Rey, an American PBT and self-proclaimed princess, Red, an APBT that is pointed in both confirmation and weight pull, and Gru, an American Staffordshire terrier who is the comedy act of their clan. Fun fact: Adam powerlifts in his free time and held the world record in bench press for his age and weight class from 2017-2022.


Kacy Muldoon

Kacy is originally from Syracuse, NY and has spent the majority of her life in Michigan and Central NY. Kacy and her three beautiful children relocated to the Fort Smith area in 2023 to be closer to family. Starting as a kennel assistant and working her way up, she brings 8 years of veterinary experience with her and joined our team in 2024. In her free time, Kacy enjoys attending car shows with her ’84 Chevy Monte Carlo SS and loves to go on random adventures. Kacy found her ‘Soul Dog’ in March of 2024, an 11 year old Black Lab named Jaeger who is both goofy and well mannered. Fun fact: Kacy also has 8 guinea pigs in a variety of breeds and ages.


Dawson Smith, Veterinary Assistant

Dawson joined our clinic team in 2023 after graduating from Muldrow High School. He has previous Veterinary experience and is attending UAFS with hopes to pursue his degree in Veterinary Medicine. Fun Fact: Dawson is the caretaker for a bevy of animals including 3 Kangaroos, 2 Wallaby, a Bobcat, a South American Raccoon, 3 Lemurs (all exotics are rescue animals), cattle, horses, dogs and many cats.

Arionna Murphy, Veterinary Assistant

Originally from Burley, Idaho, Arionna relocated with her family to Sallisaw, OK and joined the team at Massard Creek Animal Hospital in 2020. Arionna is an avid horseman and in her free time enjoys barrel racing and breakaway roping. She is joined in her home by a bevy of pets including Lovey (English Bulldog), Bailey and Tax (Labs), Mr. T (cat), Coyote (Quarter Horse), and over 20 goats.


Davona Gonzalez, Veterinary Assistant

Davona has been with us since 2017 when she moved to the area from Idaho. She has worked in several veterinary practices and brings her knowledge and compassion to our Fort Smith and Sallisaw offices.


Caleb Helsley

Caleb is a native of Cookson, OK and joined our team at SAH in 2022. Caleb graduated from Southwestern College with a Bachelors of Science and has been accepted to Oklahoma State University School of Veterinary Medicine to work towards his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. Caleb enjoys watching all sporting events and spending time outdoors with friends and family. He is joined in his home with his German Shepherd, Leo.
